What exactly are Frankenstitches?

Frankenstitch is a general term I’ve coined to describe a stuffed animal or plush that has been heavily altered or combined with another to make a completely unique piece of art. I’ve heard other people call them all sorts of things, but one of the more common ones is “chimera plushes”.

How did you come up with this idea?

To be honest, I don’t entirely remember. Most likely, I saw someone else doing it and thought it looked cool and gave it a try, and now here we are. The fact that I thought to call them Frankenstitches is also beyond me, since that’s way wittier than anything I could normally come up with.

Are you on drugs?

If you mean anti-depressants, then yes. If you mean recreational alcohol and marijuana, then also yes. But I do feel it bears mentioning that I make the vast majority of my art completely sober, and blaming the unusual nature of my art strictly on drugs is both lazy and inaccurate.

Where do you come up with your ideas?

Usually when I’m looking at a plush, either at the thrift store or from my stash of donor plushes, I get some sort of vision for what it could be made into, be it a centaur or a conjoined twin or some sort of mashup between things. If I don’t picture something I can make with it, I either won’t buy it or it goes into my stash until I get an idea.

Do you ship to [country outside of the US]?

Because of the tariffs the parasite in chief put on my country, and possibly retaliatory tariffs made by your country, I currently am only shipping to the US.
